Check out Thomas the Train layout in the Carolina Coastal Railroaders space at the Sudan Temple. Thomas is a cheeky, little wooden train with lots of friends and accessories that make him lovable. On a grander scale, the double track HO scale model railroad in the first floor exhibit area is a marvel of detail and technical know-how.
For the younger water lovers, the Coast Guard Auxiliary brings "Coastie", their walking, talking boat mascot. A blue and white robot, Coastie has navigational lights, searchlights, a rotating beacon, a siren, an air horn and moving eyes and eyelids. Visit Coastie at the Coast Guard Auxiliary booth in Union Point Park.
Lil' Kidstuff
For kids 10 and under located at the corner of Broad and East Front Street in the parking lot of the Mills & Willey law offices. A variety of entertainment geared just for them includes Poly and Ester, the famous Gabardine Sisters, a MUMFEST favorite. Kids can beccome stars as they are invited to perform with Poly and Ester. The zany, fun, musical numbers are interactive, lively and makes this a truly fun and exciting experience for the whole family.
Other delights include magic shows, clown acts, games, and lots more!
For parent's convenience, a Baby Changing Station is located in the Lil' Kidstuff Korner.
Visit the Pumpkin Patch
Visit the Pumpkin Patch at Christ Church, corner of Middle and Pollock Streets, for a wonderful selection of Halloween pumpkins. Be sure to harvest some Indian corn, gourds, mini-pumpkins, painted pumpkins and surprises galore!
