Downtown Development Corp., mumfest a city sponsored event, is one of the finest award winning festivals in the state of North Carolina.The combination of family fun, entertainment, attractions, exhibitors and savory foods in the beautifully restored setting of downtown New Bern and its waterfront, is enjoyed by more than 80,000 festival-goers every fall.

An annual Reader's Choice winner as Best Festival and top 20 Events Winner for the month of October for four years, makes mumfest an event you don't want to miss.

New This Year...

Our newest venue is a 228 foot yacht SeaFair, filled with three decks of art from local area, national and international artists. SeaFair is the world's first mobile megayacht and one of the ten largest privately owned yachts in the United States. Groundbreaking in scale, ingenuity and style, the yacht will remain moored at the Hilton Marina for mumfest weekend, arriving October 10.

The $40M purpose built yacht was designed by internationally acclaimed yacht designer Luiz De Basto. At 228 feet and 2800 international tons, it is the largest ship built for commercial operation in the Intracoastal Waterway and requires a draft of only 6.5 feet allowing it to dock at small yacht facilities rather than commercial ports. Outdoor Life is a new venue incorporating the annual Boat Show featuring businesses related to outdoor recreation and activity. Adventure racing, backpacking, bicycling, camping, canoeing, fishing, hiking, kayaking, running, sailing, standup paddle boarding are just a few of the exciting 'things to do' Mumfesters will discover at

mumfest 2012.

A collection of some of the world's most athletic canines will perform at mumfest. A team of dogs in peak physical condition perform amazing free style flying disc routines, in high-energy performances set to music.

  King BMX Stunt Show

Started by two-time participant in the X-Games, the King BMX Stunt Show performs nationally in major venues including NASCAR Races and NBA halftime shows.  King's BMX Stunt Show features three shows daily of heart-stopping action with high aerial stunts and mind-boggling technical maneuvers when riders take to the air for a high-flying, high-energy ramp and flatland riding show.

After each performance fans can meet their favorite riders and get autographs.

The Silver Drummer Girl                           

Human statue, mime, professional performer and musician. The Silver Drummer Girl fools the audience into believing she is a statue. When tipped she comes to life playing the snare drum inspiring a unique reaction from each individual, entertaining all ages and walks of life.

Pumpkin Patch/Book Sale sponsored by Christ Episcopal Church

Visit the Pumpkin Patch at Christ Church, corner of Middle & Pollock Streets, for a selection of pumpkins, gourds,Indian Corn, mums, used book sales, homemade baked goods and more. All Proceeds benefit local outreach. Open 9-6 Saturday, 12-6 Sunday.

A comfort zone for festival-goers to rest, relax and re-energize. Located near the entry into Union Point Park.
