Where should people park?

Shuttle on down ....
Although there'll be plenty of parking spaces in downtown New Bern during MUMFEST you can easily shuttle from a free parking area with continuous service on the half hour. Sat. 10am-5pm, Sun. 11am-4pm. Pick up location: New Bern Mall-JC Penney rear parking area Hwy 17 S.

What about handicapped parking?

Designated parking for the handicap will be in the O.Marks parking lot on Hancock St. See map page.These parking area(s) are restricted to vehicles with a handicapped symbol on their license plate or decal hanging from the rear view mirror. Violators will be towed away at the violator's expense.

Directions to downtown?

FROM NORTH: Washington, Pamlico County, and points North
Drive SOUTH on US Hwy 17 to New Bern, cross the new Neuse River Bridge.
Follow signage into the downtown area.

FROM SOUTH: Wilmington, Myrtle Beach, SC, and points South
Drive NORTH on US Hwy 17 to New Bern. Continue on Hwy 17 (Martin Luther King Blvd) and follow signage into the downtown area.

FROM WEST: Raleigh, Kinston, and points West
Drive EAST on US Hwy 70 to New Bern. Take Pembroke/Trent Woods exit. Turn right, cross over the overpass and continue on First St.to Neuse Blvd. Turn right and follow signage into downtown.

FROM EAST: Havelock, Morehead City, and points East
Continue on Hwy 70 to the Pembroke/Trent Woods exit. Turn right on First St. Continue on First St. and turn right onto Neuse Blvd. (which becomes Broad St) Continue on Broad St. which takes you into the downtown area.

Is there a rain date?

No. The show must go on, rain or shine although some events may be delayed or postponed depending upon the intensity of the rain.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are prohibited at MUMFEST for the safety and convenience of visitors. The City's Code of Ordinance, Chapter 6 "Animals" prohibits animals from being within 150 feet of the MUMFEST festival area, regardless if the animal is on a leash. Violaters will be subject to a $25 fine. This does not apply to guide dogs.

What about bicycles?

Any vehicle that may be a potential hazard to pedestrians is prohibited from entering the street festival area, including skates, skateboards, scooters, as well as bikes.

Baby Changing Station

A baby changing area is located in the Lil'Kidstuff Korner, corner of Broad and East Front Streets courtesy of New Bern Recreation and Parks Department.

Rest & Relaxation Area

Located near the entry into Union Point Park, a comfort zone is provided by The Courtyards at Berne Village, for festival-goers to rest, relax and re-energize.
